She has blossomed into a nationally renowned urban-jazz pianist, composer, and producer; and with her Baby Grand and keyboard at hand Kayla Waters melts our hearts and souls throughout her latest album Coevolve! Released by Trippin ‘N’ Rhythm Records, the album’s two hit singles “Zephyr” and “Full Bloom” have scored #1s on the Billboard charts.

“Full Bloom” is full of Waters’ inspirational musical flow offering upbeat melodies with writer Michael Broening who crafted the rhythm track; and there’s that all-so-cool dynamic electric guitar solo with labelmate Nick Colionne.

“Zephyr” dives deep into overcoming obstacles in life. Kayla composed the tune that speaks to facing fear and doubt with prayer, faith, and love. The song is the perfect inspirational booster in the wake of today’s challenging times of COVID-19.

“Coevolve” is Waters’ sophomore album. Her debut project “Apogee” was released in 2017. Both compilations are masterpieces from the budding artist who is rockin’ in her 20s.

Hailed from her native roots in Washington, DC, Waters clearly takes on her musical genius after her father – Smooth Jazz Great Kim Waters. The graduate of Howard University’s Department of Music interviewed with SmoothJazzTimes.com’s Kim Betton to discuss more about her music and message of faith and determination.
