Urban Smooth Jazz is the vibe in Kim Waters’ latest CD, Love Stories on the Shanachie record label. This 10 track recording is significantly special with Water producing the entire project within one week’s time while on tour in London. “I just hummed into my recorder while I was on tour and when I got back to California I got busy in the studio and completed the project in a short time,” Waters told SmoothJazzTimes.com.
From the majority of the vocals, arranging and composing to playing all the instruments, Waters’ 20 years of recording is spelled out through his many musical talents in Love Stories.
The album features they beautiful melody “One More” with Kenny Lattimore offering his smooth vocals, to another favorite, a special rendition of Micheal Jackson’s “This is It.’” Love Stories from start to finish has a unique flavor emerging from rhythm and blues and the light of smooth jazz. “I just want the fans to be happy and enjoy the music,” Waters said.
